My Story

Usha Ganesan, MD

is a board-certified pediatrician and mother of three. She earned her undergraduate degree at UCLA, followed by medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine, and then completed her residency in pediatrics at UCI.

She has been personally affected by body image concerns and disordered eating for the majority of her early adulthood, and thus has always had a special interest in treating these mental health issues. As she was seeing the rates of anxiety, depression, and disordered eating rise, she became convinced that not enough is being done to prevent these mental health issues.

In 2022, she created Beyond The Reflection, and developed a curriculum to teach kids and teens the tools they need to develop resilience to the toxic world of diet culture that we live in. In 2024, she opens a practice exclusively focusing of medical management of eating disorders and body image concerns. She hopes that by offering compassionate treatment for those already affected, and by providing outreach to aid in prevention, she will be able to do her part towards eradication these debilitating concerns.
